Authorities in Louisville released the 911 calls that came in Monday morning as police headed to the Old National Bank in downtown to confront the shooter. One of the calls came from the shooter’s mother, Lisa Sturgeon. In the recording, the mother of 25-year-old bank employee-turned-mass-shooter Connor Sturgeon is heard saying, “He has a gun, and he’s heading toward the Old National…on Main Street. This is his mother. I’m sorry, I’m getting details secondhand.” She went on to explain that she was notified of the potential crisis by her son’s roommate, but didn’t believe he owned a gun, apparently unaware he had legally purchased an AR-15 assault rifle. She said, “He’s not violent. He’s never done anything.” The 911 operator discouraged Lisa Sturgeon from going to the bank, telling her that they had already received 911 calls from others at the scene and it was not safe. Five people were killed and nine wounded in the shooting
